Factory Fire Claims 24 Lives in Lahore

Lahore factory fire kills 24At least 24 people are killed when fire engulfed a factiory in Lahore. Owner of the factory and his son are among dead. According to details an electric generator exploded in soe factory at Band Road Gulshan-i-Ravi. As a result of explosion chemicals caught fire. No safety mmeasures including emergency exit were in place. Aid workers had to demolish one wall to get out the people trapped inside. All deaths are due to severe burn injuries.

Factory is located in densly poulated area and approximately 45 people were inside at the time of explosion. Resuce and fire brigade services rushed to the scene but they faced difficulties due to narrow streets and haphazard construction. So far 24 people are killed and others are critically injured.
