Event: Global Launch of SK-II Stempower Essence at Changi Airport

By Beautifulbuns

I’m a little backlogged on my event coverage cos I zipped off to Korea for some fun in the sun with my mom. Anyways, on 5 July, I was ferried via a nice swanky black BMW to Changi Airport for this launch. It felt awesome and crappy at the same time – it’s prolly one of the rare times in my life that I go to the airport and don’t get on a flight. hah. But hey, it’s for one of the top global brands SK-II, so it’s totally worth it.

Fooling around with the Social Tree – it’s this totally awesome fun thang that’s like a digital archive at Terminal 1. There are 8 booths around it that you can use to pull up old photos, or take new ones to upload. It’s really quite fun – just take a photo, decide on a border or photo stickers, save it to your account and then swipe it up towards the tree and voila! you’re floating there in plain view for the entire world to see lol.

Right here in the little red dot called Singapore, is the new SK-II Stempower Essence was launched – first in the world yo! Now the Stempower Essence supposedly can help to activate youth activity in your skin’s cell. Featuring the new Stem-Acanax ES complex which contains (of course) Pitera along with  artichoke and kinren extract, the Stempower Essence is an essence that can give you poreless-looking bouncy skin in just two weeks (so says their marketing pitch).  How do they do it? The  “Master Switch”, otherwise scientifically known as Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AHR), is responsible for cell functions such as regeneration and anti-oxidant activity. Once it’s triggered (I akin it to tickling the bugger), it’ll respond and ultimately result in better-looking skin.

A booth specially set up, with a red carpet runway. Judging by past experience attending events, I know where I’m positioning myself at for the best photos.

A fashion show with top models, top Samsonite luggages and not-so-top clothings… I’m still bewildered that a blogshop would be chosen to partner with SK-II instead of an actual real clothing brand ie Tangs, Coast, Daniel Yam or even stylist-turned-fashion designer Zenchi, who showcased pretty decent clothings at the recent Asia Style Collection.

More top models such as Ivy Chng and Vivien Ong working their thang.

Renowned SK-II brand ambassador Sheila Sim and some other top models in red taking the stage to chat with host Linda Black about skincare and their lives.  I vaguely zoned out at this point cos I was actually having stomach flu.
