Christmas returns to Glasgow
It’s time to get into the festive spirit and take in the sights, sounds and smells of Glasgow’s Christmas. There is ice skating, a wooden market, as well as being able to explore the endless shops available in Glasgow’s Style Mile including Buchanan Galleries, St. Enoch Centre, Princes Square, House of Fraser, John Lewis and Argyll Arcade.
We started our festive activities at Glasgow Christmas Market. A village of wooden cabins at St. Enoch’s Square, just beside the St Enoch Shopping Centre.
Lot’s of wooden gifts on sale this year from animals to names spelled out on little trains.

It would of course be rude of us not to purchase any beer. Beers of Scotland have a stall filled with beers from smaller producers such as Tryst and Wooha Brewing. Check out their Facebook page here.

Shopping:
Christmas is all around in the shops and with over 1,500 shops you won’t be stuck for somewhere. We popped into Buchanan Galleries to check out the Lego Advent Calender. Mrs Foodie even met Santa!
Glasgow on Ice:
Open until 31st December, Glasgow on Ice has outdoor skating, fairground rides and unforgettable (well for Mr Foodie it was) festive fun. There’s food and drink as well as the big wheel on offer.
After showing off our ice skating skills, or lack of, we had a hot chocolate and a coffee in the bar above the ice rink.

There was music as well as a “roaring” fire to keep us warm and entertained.
After all that exercise (he he) we needed some food, and Hutchesons is nearby, has delish food and was a perfect place to retire and discuss our excitement over a drink.
