I serve on the board of the Phoenix Zoo, and I admire how much our animal care staff goes the extra mile to give the animals healthy, productive lives. Above is a great story about how the zoo teamed up with Hanger Prosthetics to equip Ivan, one of our Komodo dragons, with a device to help him walk better.
Hanger is the same company whose work is featured in the movie Dolphin Tale. The company also makes prosthetics and orthotics for humans; I hope I’m never in need of their services, but if I am, I’ll definitely look for them, in part out of gratitude for the work they do with animals.
