After surviving a disastrous battle at prom, Alyssa has embraced her madness and gained perspective. She's determined to rescue her two worlds and the people and netherlings she loves. Even if it means challenging Queen Red to a final battle of wills and wiles . . . and even if the only way to Wonderland, now that the rabbit hole is closed, is through the looking-glass world-a parallel dimension filled with mutated and violent netherling outcasts. In the final instalment of the wildly popular Splintered trilogy, Alyssa and her dad journey into the heart of magic and mayhem in search of her mom and to set right all that's gone wrong. Together with Jeb and Morpheus, they must salvage Wonderland from the decay and destruction that has ensnared it. But if they succeed and come out alive, can everyone truly have their happily ever after?

I once thought memories were something better left behind ... frozen pockets of time you could revisit for sentimental value, but more of an indulgence than a necessity. MEMORY'S MYSTIC BAND

This is a great conclusion to what's been a thoroughly enjoyable series. This picks up right where Unhinged finishes and things are far resolved for Alyssa, Jeb, Morpheus or Wonderland. I loved the fact a large chunk of the book takes place in the looking-glass world. Hello, Lewis Carroll references a-g-go! This world is even more sinister and dangerous than Wonderland and I wanted Alyssa and co to spend more time there, it was so well written and intriguing and quite dark at times. Ensnared brings all the threads from the previous book together though doesn't exactly tie things up with pretty bows. There's a sense of possible future adventures at the end. I'm a sucker for Alice in Wonderland retellings and this series is among the best I've read. There's a spin-off of self-contained stories I might check out as well.
