The Dyson Small Ball* has just been launched and is marketed as a ultra-lightweight, compact vacuum but with all the mighty suction of a typical Dyson. The average upright cleaner weighs a hefty 7.7kg whereas the Small Ball is just 5.5 making it much easier to maneuver and carry upstairs.  It also saves storage space as it is only 806mm tall with the wand retracted.
The machine is also quieter than most vacuum cleaners, boasting a 30% reduction in the noise it makes. They redefined airflow paths enabling the engineers to reduce unwanted noise, removing turbulence, without compromising on performance. It also has the Ball technology adding the ease of use and mobility.

It is very effective at picking up dirt.. it uses 2 Tier Radial™ Cyclones to increase airflow and capture fine dust and the advanced cleaner head automatically adjusts between carpets and hard floors – sealing in suction.
It also comes with the stair tool, combination tool and the tangle-free turbine tool and has a 45% longer cleaning reach (compared to the Dyson DC50 upright vacuum) so you can really get into every corner of your home and ensure it is dirt and dust free.. something I have been obsessed with since the nesting began!

It fits nicely in my under stairs cupboard and is much easier to get around and up the stairs.. especially now I'm nearly 35 weeks pregnant! It leaves my floors cleaner and is easier to get around obstacles with the ball technology. I have the Dyson Cinetic as well but definitely prefer the Small Ball for ease of use and storage. I also love the addition of the tangle-free turbine tool for picking up hair out of carpet, it works so well and I think it's going to be a must have for a house full of girls! I've really been enjoying using this vacuum and have been using it more as it's so easy to whip out and use!
