Dry Fruits Halwa

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup sliced almonds (badam)
  • ¼ cup cashew nuts (kaju)
  • ¼ cup desiccated coconut.
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (akhrot)(optional)
  • 1 cup phool makhana(fox nuts/lotus seeds)
  • 2 tablespoon raisins (kismis)
  • Few deseeded dates (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom (elaichi) powder
  • 1 cup milk+1/2 cup condense milk
  • ½ cup grams sugar or to taste
  • Few saffron strands (kesar)(optional)

 Method:

  1.  Roast all the dry fruits. Reserve few for garnishing and coarsely powder the rest.
  2. Heat the ghee in a Heavy bottom deep pan and roast the dry fruits powder and continue to sauté for two or three minutes.
  3. Add the sugar, milk and saffron(optional).
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, till the sugar dissolves and the mixture attains the consistency of halwa.
  5. Add the cardamom power and mix well. Remove from heat, decorate with the reserved dry fruits and serve hot
