Dry Fruits Halwa
Ingredients
- ¼ cup sliced almonds (badam)
- ¼ cup cashew nuts (kaju)
- ¼ cup desiccated coconut.
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (akhrot)(optional)
- 1 cup phool makhana(fox nuts/lotus seeds)
- 2 tablespoon raisins (kismis)
- Few deseeded dates (optional)
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom (elaichi) powder
- 1 cup milk+1/2 cup condense milk
- ½ cup grams sugar or to taste
- Few saffron strands (kesar)(optional)
Method:
- Roast all the dry fruits. Reserve few for garnishing and coarsely powder the rest.
- Heat the ghee in a Heavy bottom deep pan and roast the dry fruits powder and continue to sauté for two or three minutes.
- Add the sugar, milk and saffron(optional).
- Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously, till the sugar dissolves and the mixture attains the consistency of halwa.
- Add the cardamom power and mix well. Remove from heat, decorate with the reserved dry fruits and serve hot
