«We met on a dating app where we both swiped right on each other. Mikey asked me out to dinner the same day that we matched and I agreed. We awkwardly hit it off at dinner and had a second date days later, which was a hike through the redwoods in Marin County, CA. Four years later, Mikey proposed and because of the Covid pandemic, wedding planning was difficult and held off…», the bride shared with us.

«We ultimately decided that we hate wedding formalities and being the center of attention so we opted to elope! We love to travel and with travel restrictions lifted, we wanted to do a destination elopement. I’ve always wanted to visit Switzerland, after reading that JRR Tolkien was inspired by Switzerland’s landscape and Mikey was on board with me (he visited Zurich when he was a teen). Since we had planned to possibly hike for our ceremony, we kept things simple with just a floral bouquet for me and a light dress that I can walk in.»

«My flower bouquet was so gorgeous and unique (from Karin Mani) and our favorite was the use of baby asparagus in the bouquet mixed with some dried florals. It matched the romantic style of my off-shoulder dress.»

We enjoyed the canoe ride we took after our vows at Oeschinen Lake the most. The boat ride was so fun and we were able to just let loose, soaking in the day privately just between us two.

«Our favorite moment is the boat ride on the beautiful lake.»

«My wedding dress was an off-shoulder dress with florals embroidered at the top and skirt. It has a full skirt but really light that I can move and twirl around in. I made sure it was light enough to pack on the plane ride (from SF to Switzerland) and also light enough where I can walk in it all day.»

Don’t overthink things, not everything will go 100% the way you planned. Be spontaneous and have fun, it’s your day and not a show for others.
