The bride shared with us: “We live in San Diego California, which for many, is a place to get married or visit on vacation. Although there is much to offer here in terms of gorgeous beaches and event spaces. We not only wanted a very untraditional wedding, but exotic and distant; a vacation destination unto itself. Where? Anywhere abroad! We were not sure who, if any, of our friends and family would join. But we would be happy with an intimate group of those who could come and share our special moment. We wanted the place to be so exquisite that there would be no need for the details that define ones wedding style.”

We wanted to find a photographer who could capture our wedding story. Janet was amazing to work with and very responsive. She helped us to find the restaurant for the reception, which had everthing we wanted.” “A gorgeous ocean view that looked across to the location we were married. The food was simple yet extraordinary! She also has an amazing DJ that she uses regularly, greek dancers, as well as the boat to take our guests to and from the wedding island, and secure the city’s permission for the ceremony.”

“We are so very grateful for all the love she put into it. My sister Leila Oberdorfer- Brilliant Event Design is one of the best wedding planners in San Diego. Having her with us was so amazing. She jumped right in and organized the reception with no time to do it. She also does destination planning.As for our wedding entertainment we chose Greek dancers and DJ Rotalex our italian DJ was a ton of fun and had perfect lighting and sound system. Our celebrant was Monte Leonard. It does not get better then to have a best friend do the wedding ceremony.”

“The Thalassa Restaraunt was casual. 5 stars based off of the service and food; which is what we wanted. The owner is a fun jolly Greek man, married to a cute little Thai lady. The view is spectacular! Unobstructed views of the island of Spinaponga. This was pretty cool since we had just had our ceremony on the Island. We had a five course meal and everything was on point!”

“I think taking the boat from our hotel dock with all of our guests following in another boat, to the Island of Spinalonga for our ceremony, was pretty freaking cool! It felt like we were celebrities. The entire event was magical. We would do it again and never change a thing!”
