Dr. AQ Khan Backs Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline Project

Abdul Qadeer KhanFamous nuclear scientist and the chief of Tehree-e-Tahafuz-e-Pakistan Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan has backed the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project, saying the project is in Pakistan’s favor and will help it to overcome the energy crises.

However, he said it is to be seen that how the new government works over the project and whether it is completed or not. He said this while speaking to media after visiting Cardiology Center in Rawalpindi.

Earlier, while addressing to a ceremony in Waqar-un-Nisa Collage, Dr. AQ Khan said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is leading the welfare works from the front but his detractors criticize him without any reason.

The scientist-turned-politician revealed that Pakistan had prepared the nuclear bomb in 1984 and India had been informed that if they tried to destroy Pakistan, they themselves will also get destroyed in the counter attack.

Dr. AQ Khan further said that after nuclear bomb, he was willing to do work in the industrial sector but then President General Zia-ul-Haq not supported him.
