The best way to utilise an over riped banana is to bake a cake/bread or muffin.Banana is one fruit which will always be been in my kitchen pantry and I need to yell at my kids to eat them.At times they might be some over ripe banana which can be consumed as such.I always use those in my bakes and you can check few of my banana bakes like eggless banana bread., Nutella banana bread choc banana muffins,Ragi- banana muffins , banana choc brownies. etc.

Coming to this bread ,the basic of this is that of banana bread with added cocoa powder and choc chips and hence I named it double chocolate banana bread.Just try this when yoy are left with over riped bananas and pair with your tea/coffee.

Prepartion time 10 mins
baking time: 35-45 mins

Ingredients

  • Maida- 3\4 cup
  • wheat flour- 3\4 cup
  • unsweetened cocoa powder- 1 tbsp
  • oil-3\4 cup
  • sugar- 1 cup ( granulated)
  • over riped banana- 5 , I used small variety banana,yekali
  • baking powder-1 & 1\2 tsp
  • Baking soda-1\2 tsp
  • milk-1\2 cup
  • yogurt-1\2 cup
  • vanilla essence- 1 & 1\2 tsp
  • choc chips-1\3 cup
Method;

1.Mash the banana well with fork.Add in sugar,oil,yogurt,essence to it and mix well.

2.Place a sieve over it and sieve both flour along with baking powder,baking soda and cocoa powder.Add in milk to get in the correct dropping consistency.

3.Lastly fold in choc chips ( reverse few for toppings) and pour it into a greased loaf pan.sprinkle reserved chip over it.

4.Bake it in a pre heated oven at 280 deg C for 35-45 mins till done.

5.Cool, invert it,slice and serve for snack.
