Dots Recommends: The Cornerstones, The Long Lost Band, Mountain Sounds

Posted on the 10 March 2014 by Music Vstheworld @musicvstheworld

It’s Music Monday again! That came around fast! You’ll be glad to know I’ve got three more bands for your listening pleasure today…

cornerstones

If you like the idea of The Wonder Stuff mixed with The Beatles, and have a penchant for melodic, almost country style in places, guitar, you’ll love “Smack Me in the Face” by The Cornerstones.

long lost band

The Long Lost Band’s “Heavier” kinda reminds me of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, maybe if they’d had a day in the studio with The Strokes. It could do with living up to its name a touch more, but you know what I mean, right? Some people think the word “potential” means it’s not very good, but that’s not how I use the word, and I reckon these guys have got it.

mountain sounds

Find That Man by Mountain Sounds is a bit of a mind bender of a track – it’s a folk & jazz fusion, with a slight rock twist. I’m always up for hearing something a tad different, so am interested to see what this band has to offer in their future.
