Domain Movers: Float.com, RO.com, TractorSales.com & More Domains

Posted on the 10 August 2015 by Worldwide @thedomains

Welcome to the latest installment of Domain Movers where we detect domain names on the move due to recently being purchased, registered and more. The vast majority of the domain names in our reports are corporate related or high value domain names.

Here we go with the latest:

Target Brands, Inc. registered the domain name CollegeStyler.com adding to it domain name portfolio of over 3,700 domain names.

Twitter, Inc. registered the domain name TweetStories.com adding to its domain name portfolio of a little over 2,000 domain names.

Float.com which had been owned by Float, Inc. and had a website on the domain launched the Scribd mobile app and decided to list the domain name asset Float.com for sale sometime around February 2013 according to screen shot history from DomainTools.com. The domain name now has sold according to whois records and Sedo is reporting the sales price at $50,000 USD. Glenn Rogers was the buyer and I reached out to see if Glenn could share any details or future plans for the domain name. Currently, Float.com redirects to FloatSchedule.com which is a Resource Planning and Scheduling Software.

Scribd/Float Inc. acquired Float.com from Scott Day of DigiMedia.com on or about June 17, 2011 according to whois history records.

Although I wasn’t able to find a sales price from DigiMedia To Scribd, to note: Floats.com sold on Sedo January 18, 2011 for $35,000. Float.org sold for $2,000 on March 4, 2013 at Afternic. Dr. Pepper/Seven Up, Inc. were the buyers of Floats.com. That domain currently redirects to RootBeer.com with A&W branding but was also used in advertising when Sunkist Float and A&W Float were announced.

RO.com (ro) has changed ownership. The domain name was under whois privacy at Moniker and came out of whois privacy at Moniker displaying Coneris d.o.o. The page title prior to coming out of privacy showed “Giuseppe Graziano | Domain Holdings Brokerage ” and the domain does not resolve.

I reached out to the registrant on file for confirmation and received a reply of: “yes the domain has sold and due to an NDA, I cannot disclose the exact price. The sale was brokered by Domain Holdings (Joe)”

The domain has transferred to eName and the registrant of Xiaoxu of Beijing China with a registrant email address of [email protected] did check again later in the day and it showed a different registrant of Daiyunjie of Shang Hai China and an email address of xdanger@gmail. In general though, the domain has sold.

CelebrityWorld.com which was once owned by Zynga, then transferred to GoDaddy under privacy and listed for sale for $20,000 has moved back to MarkMonitor under generic whois data and is now displaying a contact form through MarkMonitor. As I had reported in an earlier article, Duals.com followed this exact process recently.

Google Inc. continues its some what different approach to securing domain names, mainly due to the keyword that the domain names relate to. FluffyJammies.com wouldn’t appear to be a core focus for Google for an example, but it is a domain name that has just revealed ownership by Google Inc.

The domain name was registered March 25, 2014 via DreamHost under privacy protection. On July 24, 2015 the domain transferred to MarkMonitor and reveals Google. It is not clear if Google was the registrant of the domain or if they secured the domain name through private party purchase. DreamHost name servers remain at the time I checked and I also could not find a trace of any website on the domain name. There are also no indexed pages for the domain.

It was announced in June 2014 that Google was privately testing domain name registrations, so I question if this domain and the many others that I reported that were “odd” to me were part of a test of the registration/transfer process of domains from several current providers?

Paramount International Export, Ltd (Wonderful Company) has registered the domain name EarthsFinestWater.com. They own the Fiji brand.

Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) has acquired the domain name iLoveInsurance.com with the help of Brand Shelter, which is a Key-Systems service. The domain name was parked with Sedo at the time of the transaction. The domain was owned by a Luke Lawrence of Las Vegas Nevada prior. The domain has been registered since March 29, 2010.

PepsiCo, Inc. registered the domain name WinTheTrailer.com adding to its domain name portfolio of over 2,800+ domains. They also acquired the domain name Game-Ready.com from HugeDomains.com who recently grabbed the domain on the drop on May 17, 2015. Pepsi does not currently own GameReady.com according to whois records.

TractorSales.com has been acquired by AGCO Corporation. The domain name was using SedoParking.com at the time of the change of registrant. The domain name had been owned by a David Ravo of Las Vegas.

To note, I viewed a cached page of the domain and it showed a $9,000 USD asking price. Also to note, an Afternic listing showed the domain for sale with an $800,000 Buy Now and a minimum offer of $20K with the seller being “bluetime” and being listed on September 21st, 2012. The Afternic listing still remains.

According to AgcoCorp.com: “Through well-known brands including Challenger®, Fendt®, GSI®, Massey Ferguson® and Valtra®, AGCO Corporation delivers agricultural solutions to farmers worldwide through a full line of tractors, combine harvesters, hay and forage equipment, seeding and tillage implements, grain storage and protein production systems, as well as replacement parts. ”

AGCO is a publicly traded company on the NYSE AGCO with a market cap of $4.844 Billion.

GoldenKnight.com potentially has sold? This was a Tucows/YummyNames owned domain and it has transferred to GoDaddy but still shows Tucows.com Co as the registrant currently.

The Hertz Corporation has acquired the domain name SecretCars.com from HugeDomains adding to its domain name portfolio of about 3,000 domain names.

Hart Inc. (there are actually many of those) but this one appears to be a new startup? from California in the medical field, but they have acquired the EMD Hart.com with the help of MarkMonitor. The domain name currently only has DnStination Inc. in whois data but the domain name resolves to a website showing Hart Inc. at the bottom of the site.

The domain name has been registered since October 17, 1996 and was owned by Vern Hart.

Based on whois history records, it appears the transaction took place about May 7, 2015 when the domain name transferred to Dynadot and went under privacy protection. The same name servers as used today were set on May 7, 2015.

I tried to find more info on the company but it presented a challenge. Due to the amount of “hart” type companies like HartSolution.com for an example. It does state on Hart.com: “

There are times when technology can bring you closer to what matters most. This is one of those times. We take the difficulty out of managing your health. Now, you can take better care of yourself, so you can enjoy your life and do what you love.

Hart helps you track and manage your daily health and fitness activities. Nicely summing up all the small (and big) activities that affect your overall health with a real-time Health Score.”

Apartamentos.com (Spanish/Portuguese for Apartments) has been acquired by CoStar Realty Information, Inc. who I also broke the news that recently purchased Land.com. Apartamentos.com will likely be used with Apartments.com which CoStar also owns and acquired in April 2014.

Damart has registered the domain names PerfectComfortByDamart.com and Perfect-Comfort.com and currently does not own PerfectComfort.com according to whois records. “Damart is a French company which specializes in clothing. Established in 1953 the brand became a household name in France and the UK.” according to Wikipedia

AfterDark.com has been sold by Activision Publishing, Inc.? The domain name has transferred from MarkMonitor to CSC Corporate Domains to an After Dark LLC. The domain name resolvef to a Playboy logo and a login page on the domain name Peiemail.com when I initially checked the domain. PeiEmail.com is owned by Playboy Enterprises International, Inc. who is a CSC client. The domain no longer resolved to PeiEmail.com at time of publication.
