Does The Optical Illusion Dress Really Work?

By Fashionvisuals @fashion_visuals

The optical illusion dress first hit the fashion scene in 2012 where it created chaos amongst celebrities who jumped at the chance of wearing a dress which makes their figures look sensational.

The magical factor about the optical illusion dress (which is basically a figure hugging body con dress with contrasting coloured panels on the sides) is because apparently it suits ALL shapes. So basically if you are pear shaped, boyish, curvy, slender or any other body shape then this dress is meant to suit you no matter what!

The illusion dress (originally designed by, Stella McCartney) is created to take inches off your waist, make you look thin, emphasize your curves and enhance figures which sounds pretty fabulous right?

Here at The Fashion Visuals we were lucky enough to have an amazing black and white illusion dress from OMG FASHION sent to us and this gave us the perfect opportunity to test it out for our selves.

First up before we tell you our thoughts we thought we would give you a taster of what some of our favorite celebrities looked like in their illusion dresses …

Kate Winslet (who is well known for her curves) was the first A-list celebrity to show off Stella McCartney’s optical illusion dress at the Venice Cannes festival and she was featured in every media publication possible after she wore it as she looked amazingly stunning and her figure looked to-die-for!

Tess Daley has a more slender figure and she chose the optical illusion dress and teamed it with poker straight hair and gold accessories which really wowed on the red carpet.

Alicia Keys is fortunate to have an hourglass figure and the optical illusion dress she chose to wear with matching shoes and accessories and pink lipstick made her look sexy and womanly in all the right places.

Kim Kardashian (before she fell pregnant) is well-known around the world for her curves and booty and she pulls off the optical illusion dress perfectly as she luckily has a tiny waist  and the dress nips it in even more making her look 1940s chic!

We received this optical illusion dress  from OMG FASHION and one of our fashion writer’s, Adrienne sported the dress for an event, lets hear what she had to say:

OMG Fashion Illusion Dress

“I was a bit skeptical about wearing the optical illusion dress as I’m used to wearing less-fitted clothes but it was a refreshing change as the black panelling on the dress really highlighted my curves in the best way and the thick material made it extremely comfortable to wear rather than it being really clingy.

“I chose to team the illusion dress with some chunky gladiator heels to add a touch of rock chick to my look but if I was attending a more fancy event I would wear these from Lotus shoes as they would look elegant and sophisticated teamed with the dress”.
