Dixie Chicks Bring A Badass Attitude and Something To Prove in 2016
Call them innovators, renegades, villains, mothers, influencers or music superstars. I call them freakin' fabulous! In March 2003, Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines made a comment about President (at the time) George W. Bush that essentially ended the band's career. Personally, I thought the backlash was a little extreme but in Country music it is an unwritten rule that an artist is strictly forbidden to talk bad against God, your Country, and apparently the President. They say time heals all wounds and the Dixie Chicks have announced a return to touring with their upcoming DCX MMXVI World Tour to prove they may have been down, but they sure they hell aren't out.  Since their first album, the music of the Dixie Chicks have stirred emotions in fans across the world making them one of the most biggest and most influential bands of our time. Not just "big for a country band" or "big for a big female band," the Dixie Chicks are a multi-platinum selling act in North America, Europe and Australia. They are one of a mere handful of acts with multiple albums achieving "diamond" status (meaning sales over 10 million copies) - both WIDE OPEN SPACES (1998) and FLY (1999) hit that stratospheric landmark - and over the years have sold over 30 million albums worldwide and won thirteen Grammy Awards. Their on-stage reputation has helped them sell over $100 million worth of concert tickets while outspoken songs like "Goodbye, Earl" and "Not Ready To Make Nice" made it clear that this power trio played by nobody's rules. The Dixie Chicks have grown from a band into a cultural force becoming the biggest selling female band of all time in the U.S. The multiple Grammy Award®–winning and multi-platinum selling band will visit over 40 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada in 2016 with a Dallas stop To Gexa Energy Pavilion on Friday, August 5, 2016.  Citi® cardmembers will have access to pre-sale tickets beginning Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. local time through Citi's Private Pass® Program. For complete pre-sale details, visit www.citiprivatepass.com. The public can jump on this show this Saturday, November 21 at noon by visiting www.livenation.com.
