DiorSkin Nude Skin-Perfecting Hydrating Concealer

By Hhepton

Depending on how long you’ve been reading my blog, you may know the struggle I’ve had to find not only a concealer that matches my skin tone, but one that has enough coverage to disguise redness and blemishes and doesn’t cling to my dry patches that I have around my face. I’ve tried a few different ones that other people have raved about, the much loved Collection Lasting Perfection concealer looks awful on me, and Benefit’s Boi-Ing didn’t impress me either, so how did the DiorSkin Nude Hydrating Concealer fare when I tested that one out?

Well, guess what? I absolutely love it. It may not be the highest coverage, and it may be rather pricey at £21 for a tiny 10ml of product, it’s the only concealer I’ve ever tried that I’ve loved using and I can honestly say I’d happily repurchase this, even at that price! Before buying this I’d fallen head over heels in love with the DiorSkin Nude BB Creme, the day before actually. I’d got that in a blog sale and after realising how amazing it was I decided I was just going to go for it and get the matching concealer too, I headed straight down to Debenhams and handed over the cash. I’m so glad I wasn’t disappointed with this product, as after the disaster that was Benefit Boi-Ing I was slightly dubious, but I now use this every single day and it’s nearly perfect.

I’m not massively into high end makeup, obviously I lust after it and spends hours scouring the Space NK website, but being a student and not having a massive budget I usually can’t justify buying it. This is one of the first high end purchases I’ve ever made, and in fact I think it might have been a little bit of a mistake. You really can tell it’s a high end product, even the lid of the packaging feels expensive, and the product inside is better than anything I’ve ever found  in Boots. You may be thinking, well if it’s so good, why was it a mistake? Well, my fellow beauty loving friend, it’s opened the doors to high end makeup and I now have a rather expensive addiction. I want everything and anything luxurious.

Although you don’t get much, the DiorSkin Nude Hydrating Concealer is so creamy and well pigmented that you don’t need a lot of it at all. I only use a few dots of it under each eye and I find it does a really good job of concealing my under eye circles to a certain degree, whilst still brightening them. You have to be careful with it under your eyes though as if you have more than a few fine lines I think you might struggling with it settling them into them, I sometimes get dry skin around my eyes and I find that sometimes towards the end of the day this can start to look a little weird on them, but it’s nothing a little touch up won’t fix. I use this around my nose and on any other blemishes I have too, it does a really good job of concealing the redness I get, but it isn’t the most long lasting and after wearing it for around 6 hours I start to notice the redness peeking through. I have the shade 001 which is the palest shade, and whilst it’s a tiny little bit darker than the lightest shade of the BB Creme, it’s still a really good match and looks nice and natural against my real skin.

It isn’t the most high coverage concealer you’re going to find, it won’t totally cover them if you have particularly bad dark circles or large blemishes, but for every day wear I find this perfect. It doesn’t look cakey around my nose at all like most other concealers I’ve tried, and it’s so easy to blend that you don’t even need a brush. I even love the packaging of it, the squeezy tube makes it so easy to get just the right amount of product you need, and you don’t waste any at all, which is good considering the price!

Could I rave about this product any more? Probably not. Should you expect another absolutely glowing review of the DiorSkin Nude BB Creme very soon? Most definitely yes! I even want the powder from this range and will probably be purchasing it on a cheeky little shopping trip in January ;)

What’s your favorite high end makeup product? I’d love to hear what your fave brands are, and what I should be looking out for!
