For those of you guys who are still trying to figure out which 7-inch tablet is best for you, let me narrow it down to these two great tablets, Google’s Nexus 7 and Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD. Both these tablets are really great. But still we have to figure out which one is the best among this duo? Well, lets find that out.
As you may already know, Google came to the tablet business with a big bang, showing-off their new Nexus 7 tablet that runs on the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. But their glory didn’t last too long until Amazon came-up with their next-gen Kindle Fire HD tablet. Both companies claims they have the best tablet, but I’m about to show you which one is truly better. First of all, lets compare these tablets on the specifications showdown.
Now, I know you have already come to a decision. And no, your decision is not really a good one. While it seems like buying a Nexus 7 is a bad idea because it costs a bit more than the Kindle Fire HD, let me point out some key features you are missing out in here.
Yes, you can get a 16 GB Kindle Fire HD for $199, rather than a 8 GB Nexus 7. But are you willing to give up a light-weight tablet with an 1.3 quad-core Tegra 3 processor and the power of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for just another tablet with much lower specs and with 8 GB of extra storage? I guess not.
Pros and Cons
Despite the ‘HD’ name of the new Kindle Fire, it has the same display of the Nexus 7. And also another bad thing about Kindle Fire HD is that it works well with only Amazon’s own services. Which means that you will be missing out on a lot of Google Play. And few other features like NFC and GPS.
But on behalf of Google’s Nexus 7 we have the latest features of the Jelly Bean, including the new voice commands feature, Google Now, NFC, latest version of Google Maps, and all the other great Google services. So, basically Google’s Nexus 7 wins the competition, as it’s only a battle between extra storage and more power. Sacrifice a few gigabytes from the internal storage and you will have yourself a super-fast tablet running on the smooth Android Jelly Bean.
Well, it’s up to you to either go with extra storage or more power. So, what’s it gonna be? Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire HD?
