Chelsea Design Centre Chelsea HarbourOne fine Friday I found myself at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, quite a mouthful of a place to (say) go and I had zero expectations about what it would be like. I headed there to go and listen to a talk by Mariella Tandy in conversation with Paolo Moschino.  Aside from being greeted by George the Giraffe, the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour is a wonderful space. It is over 145,000 sq ft and is the largest space of its kind in Europe, which is hardly surprising when walking round. If you didn’t know about it, it is a place to shop interior design as well as enjoying a nibble of something and a refreshing glass. However, I wasn’t there for the shopping experience (personal shopping is available, as is The Design Club; a private members’ club for design professionals); I turned up after having taken the complimentary car from Sloane Square to listen to the conversation. Making my way up these fabulous stairwells and walking through their iconic domes, I arrived at the lecture room having no idea what to expect for the next hour or so.
