Depp Vs. Heard

By Lisaorchard @lisaorchard1

Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’ve had a few days off work, so I got a lot of writing done. It felt good, and I’m excited about this story. But enough about that. Today, I’d like to talk about a documentary on the trial of Depp vs. Heard.

To be honest, I didn’t want to watch it. I’d heard so much about how social media went crazy, how most people sided with Johnny Depp, and I guess I’d become jaded and thought it was a publicity stunt.

After watching it, I feel it’s the story of two maladjusted people who tried to make a marriage work and didn’t have the maturity or capacity to do so. Johnny Depp was addicted to opiates which caused his erratic behavior, and Amber has issues of her own.

I do feel that Ms. Heard was attempting to set him up. She had taken pictures of him spaced out on drugs several times. Who needs pictures of their spouse in that condition? I felt she had planned to use them for her cause.

I don’t believe Johnny Depp is normally physically abusive. I think she was more abusive than he was, both emotionally and physically. The bottom line, however, is both behaved badly, which happens when situations escalate.

They both need counseling in my opinion. Johnny to deal with his addiction and the cause of his addiction. Most times, addiction is self-medication. Something that eases the pain. Counseling will help him deal with the pain from his childhood and teach him healthier coping mechanisms.

Amber also needs counseling. What kind of person tries to set up her husband like that? Was it a publicity stunt? Was she hoping if she was part of the #Metoo movement it would help her career?

I don’t know, but I do question her motives. Counseling will help her deal with her part in the dysfunctional relationship. These are my thoughts on the Depp vs Heard documentary. How about you? What are your thoughts on the situation? Leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
