This has become a favorite smoothie of mine, especially after a tough match or workout. Even without the hemp, this smoothie is pretty killer. The base ingredients are pineapple, banana, spinach, celery, cucumber, lime and avocado, which when blended together has a kind of sweet-and-sour taste, almost margarita-esque (hello salt-rimmed glass?)

As far as post-workout nutrition is concerned, this has a bit of everything:

- the fruit and vegetables provide vitamins and nutrients
- celery and banana in particular contain electrolytes (sodium and potassium) which you lose when you sweat.
- the hemp and flax seed add a decent boost of protein.
- the avocado add fiber and make it creamy delicious.

Because this smoothie is so nutritionally balanced, I also have this as an on-the-go breakfast, only then I'll add all sorts of yummy toppings like coconut flakes, pumpkin seeds, bee pollen, and a new fave - Himalayan sea salt. Mmmmmmmm!

You really need a good blender for this smoothie to get a smoothie consistency. I recommend the Ninja Professional blender. It's not cheap (about $72 on Amazon), but you'll have it for years. I've used mine every day (sometimes more than once) for nearly 2 years, and it runs perfectly.

Right now I'm either up to my eyeballs in paint swatches and fabric samples, or kicking some butt on a tennis court (hopefully the latter).
