By Ceemac126 @PGCBlogging

News from Prince George’s County Public Affairs Officer Julie Parker is that they are “working to gather the latest details” on a murder of an off duty male, Metropolitan Police Officer.  The shooting death took place last night, Monday, April 22nd around 8:15pm.  Prince George’s County arrived at the 6700 block of Green Moss Drive in the Avalon gated home community.  Initially they thought the suspect, who is believed to be a relative of the victim, was barricaded inside the home.  Jonathan Howard, a family friend, said that the shooter is reportedly the Officer’s stepson from a recent marriage.  Upon entering they found that the Metropolitan Police Officer had shot in front of the home’s garage and there was no suspect to be located inside the home. Prince George’s County police Cpl. Maria McKinney says officers were called to an Upper Marlboro home Monday evening for a report of a shooting.  The incident is being reported as a domestic dispute and the alleged shooter has fled the scene.  It’s also being reported that the Officer may have been shot to death with his service weapon.
