Conference On Who Should Govern The Internet Is On For Tomorrow In Washington & Is Being Streamed Live

The ITU meeting is next month and with countries like Russia, China and India all wanting a a bigger say in the governance of the Internet, there is a conference being held tomorrow on who should govern the Internet.

The conference is being put on by Future Tense, a joint effort of Arizona State University, the New America Foundation, and Slate.com, in Washington D.C tomorrow

The event will also be streamed live.

“The United Nations has its eyes on the Internet.

“A summit next month could lead to a telecommunications treaty granting a U.N. agency jurisdiction, and control, over the online universe. ”

“The issue is being furiously debated and lobbied in advance of the summit. ”
