CMA Awards 2014

The 48th Annual CMA (Country Music Association) Awards were held two nights ago in Nashville, the capital of country music. It’s country music’s biggest night and boy, can Nashville do glamour! Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are the un-crowned king and queen of country in my book, and looked sophisticated in their almost matching black outfits. In addition to black pale pink was a big color on the red carpet. Miranda Lambert, one of the biggest winners of the night was like a screen siren in her glamorous pink gown and Grammy winner Kacey Musgraves had an edgier look in glittery pale pink. I am a HUGE country music fan. Here are a few red carpet highlights:

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood – she hosted the evening and had 9 (!!) outfit changes throughout the night. She has also just announced she is expecting her first baby with husband (and NHL ice hockey player) Mike Smith.

Band Perry CMA Awards 2014

Best Vocal Group nominees The Band Perry brought in a bit of rock attitude to the red carpet. And also slightly matching hair-dos.

Martina McBride

Country legend Martina McBride was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, but unfortunately did not take home any awards. Her black and gold dress was pretty as a picture though and very glamorous.

Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert was the biggest winner of the night- on the red carpet and off! She won Female Vocalist, Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Musical Event of the Year with Keith Urban for their duet.

Keith Urban

Keith Urban, who won Musical Event of the Year with Miranda Lambert, and wife Nicole Kidman onthe red carpet. Nicole’s lace dress was very romantic.

Kacey Musgraves

Kacey Musgraves walked away with Song of the Year Awards for “Follow Your Arrow”.

Florda Georgia Line

Florida Georgia Line and one of my favorite country bands won for Vocal Duo of the Year.

Kelly PIckler

Kelly Pickler- look how far she has become from American Idol all those years ago! She looked so sophisticated in her long evening gown.

Trisha Yearwood Garth Brooks

Country legend Garth Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood also trusted black on the red carpet. Garth, who is one of the  biggest selling country artists of all time has a big comeback in the cards with a new album and tour.

Scotty McCreery

Scotty McCreery vowed American idol with his vintage country voice and he has gone from strength to strength ever since. He cut a very dapper figure in his blue suit.

Lady ANtebellum

Lady Antebellum, one of the biggest break out country starts of recent years and Vocal Group of the Year nominees gave a rockin’ performance of their hit “Bartender” on the show.
