Clothespin Sunburst Mirror

My crafting dry spell is over!!  I pulled out the drop cloth and spray paint for a fun Sunday project the day after Hannah moved to town…maybe she gave me some crafty mojo.

This was a simple and inexpensive project that helped to brighten up my laundry room.  Hannah was getting rid of these wooden mirrors she made (check out how to make your own wooden mirrors here).  I knew immediately these would be perfect for a sunburst look!!

Supplies:

  • ~40-50 clothespins
  • Spray paint
  • Drop cloth
  • Wooden mirror

I picked up two packages of clothespins at the Dollar Store months ago but could never find the right mirror for my vision.  Then I was browsing through Hannah’s “garage sale box” and snagged this round wooden mirror.

I laid all the clothespins out onto a drop cloth outside and went to town.  I only needed two coats and didn’t even paint the back sides because those will be against the wall.  The whole project from start to finish took about 2 hours, mostly drying time.

I did spray the mirror down to ensure the pins and mirror were the same color.  Once everything was dry I just pinned the clothespins around the mirror, no glue or adhesive.

I am so excited that I can cross this project off my craft list because it has been on it for quite some time!
