Wreath laying ceremonies were held throughout the DPRK at cemeteries for revolutionary heroes and martyrs, soldiers and war dead on September 15 (Thursday) to mark Harvest Moon Day (Chuseok; harvest festival).

Floral wreaths from Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) were delivered to the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery on Mt. Taesong, the Patriotic Martyrs’ Cemetery and the Fatherland Liberation War (Korean War) Martyrs’ Cemetery. Wreaths sent jointly by the Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Central Committee, the State Affairs Commission, the Supreme People’s Assembly Presidium and DPRK Cabinet were delivered to the entrance of the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery and the Patriotic Martyrs’ Cemetery. A wreath sent jointly by the WPK Central Committee, the WPK Central Military Commission, and the State Affairs Commission was delivered to the “Soul of Heroes” pedestal at the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs’ Cemetery. Floral wreaths were also delivered from a variety of “armed forces organs, working people’s organizations, committees, ministries, national institutions, units of the KPA and KPISF, institutions of science, education, public health, literature and art and media, and party and power organs, enterprises, universities and farms in the city.”

DPRK central leadership at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery included:VMar Hwang Pyo’ng-so’ [Hwang Pyong So]; Yang Hyo’ng-sop’ [Yang Hyong Sop]; Ri Su-yo’ng [Ri Su Yong]; Kim P’yo’ng-hae [Kim Phyong Hae]; O Su-yo’ng [O Su Yong]; Ro Tu-ch’o’l [Ro Tu Chol]; Cho Yo’n-chun [Jo Yon Jun]; Ri Mu-yo’ng [Ri Mu Yong]; Kim Tok-hun [Kim Tok Hun]; An Cho’ng-su [An Jong Su]; and Pak Myo’ng-son [Pak Myong Son]. DPRK central leadership at the Patriotic Martyrs’ Cemetery were: Pak Pong-chu [Pak Pong Ju]; Kim Ki-nam [Kim Ki Nam]; General Kim Wo’n-hong [Kim Won Hong]; Kim Yo’ng-ch’o’l; Kim Yo’ng-tae [Kim Yong Dae]; Ko In-ho [Ko In Ho]; Ri Ch’o’l-man [Ri Chol Man]; Kim Cho’ng-im [Kim Jong Im]. Among those visiting the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs’ Cemeter were: Ch’oe Ryong-hae [Choe Ryong Hae]; VMar Ri Myo’ng-su [Ri Myong Su]; Ri Man-ko’n [Ri Man Gon]; Kwak Pom-ki [Kwak Pom Gi]; Kim Su-kil [Kim Su Gil]. Also visiting the cemeteries in Pyongyang and in the provinces were DPRK citizens, leading cadres and functionaries of the WPK, the DPRK Government, the KPA, the KPISF, workers’ organizations, state committees and institutions and industrial and agricultural production units.

According to KCNA, “participants paid silent tribute to the martyrs and looked round the cemeteries.”
