This is one of my favorite quotes and the mentality I own when it comes to my appearance. With that said, I too am perplexed when someone doesn’t present his or her best self. Part of the Mama Knows Best mission is to help someone find their very best self, to feel comfortable with this self and ultimately feel enhanced and enriched by the experience.
Recently, I issued a challenge to a coworker, Chiqui. Chiqui is so cute and has so much potential but often comes to work dressed as if we are there before the sun rises, as if we are responsible for climbing on crazy high ladders and painting, hammering and manipulating mannequins all day. (Ok, so this IS what we have to do but still… we don’t HAVE to look like we are on a construction site while doing it!).
I challenged Chiqui to “dress up” for a week. I gave her a few suggestions to enhance her look and sent her on her way! Last week, she successfully completed the challenge. She describes her style as “casual preppy with a little bit of hipster, kinda like Madewell”. Here are a few pictures of Chiqui throughout the week:
