Children’s Book Review: "A Day with Dutchess," by Mark Condon and Julie Phillips

By Parentingauthor @ParentingAuthor
About this book:
Dutchess is a blind therapy dog with a gentle and joyful heart. In A Day with Dutchess, she shows her canine friend Droopy how small actions can make a world of difference. Join them as they work with children at the local autism center, sample treats at their favorite pet boutique, and organize an adoption fair to help lonely cats and dogs find their loving forever homes.
My thoughts:
This book is subtitled “Life Lessons from a Blind Therapy Dog,” and that is precisely what it provides for children! In reading this lovely rhyming tale, children learn about understanding disabilities (both in animals and people), helping others, having compassion, and pet adoption. Whether we are big or small, “We ALL make a difference,” as Droopy realizes when he sees the impact that his friend Dutchess has on the lives of the people and animals he meets. Children will love spending a day with Dutchess and come to realize that doing for others is a sure ticket to happiness!
