Celebs In Politics!

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
Hi everyone!
Politics is something we see in the press and on the news each and every single day, whether it be about MP expenses, phone hacking or the highly talked about possibility of Scottish Independence.
Celebs In Politics!
As a Scottish blogger, a lot of you like to ask me my thoughts on Scottish Independence and I always decline to comment because I feel that people who are in the public eye shouldnt pass comment on politics to their followers or fans (not that Im a celebrity!!) because people can be swayed or influenced by what others think, Im not saying that people are easily lead, but I do think some 'celebrities' use their status to change people's opinions to their own.
I won't ever publicly pass comment on my thoughts on Scottish Independence because regardless of what I say, I would either offend my English, Welsh & Northern Irish followers, Or I would offend my fellow scottish followers and I wouldnt want to offend anyone, its just not worth it - my opinion will stay between me and my ballot paper on the 18th of September.
A few people might already know my thoughts, people from my local area who I'm friends with or people I know in general will probably have had this discussion with me, but just because I'm happy to discuss it privately, I am not happy to discuss it publicly.
David Bowie ended his speech at the Brit Awards 2014 last night by saying 'Stay With Us Scotland' - erm, who is he to preach to scotland? who is he to talk UK politics when he lives in America? I feel as though he is using his status wrongly and it almost felt like it was a publicity stunt - and judging by all the attention he's getting in the press and on social media (and by idiots like me!) he has got his own way.  I like David Bowie and I like his music, but if you're asking me if i like his political stance then the answer is a big fat NO! Whether I agree with him or not, no celebrity or person of influence should be preaching at an awards ceremony! UGH!!!
Ontop of that, Last week, Jonathan Ross asked Scottish comedian Kevin Bridges in a 'fun' interview, what his thoughts on scottish independence are. Kevin replied with a joke which is the perfect way to respond. Jonathan Ross could have ruined the comedians career with one question, and he knew exactly what he was doing! publicity, publicity, publicity. Its wrong, and I for one am sick of celebrities sticking their nose into political issues and trying to sway the public. Its nothing short of propaganda and I for one am sick of it.
Celebrities - stick to singing, dancing, acting, modelling, blogging or whatever you do, but keep your blummin nose out of politics!
That is all...
 What are your thoughts?
