Casual Weekend Style

It's the weekend. You have no big plans besides laying low, maybe running some errands, hitting the park or just hanging around. Ah, you can finally relax and it really doesn't matter what you wear. Yet despite this lack of a dress code, you find you still want to look and feel good in what you wear. Here are some outfits to consider for your casual weekend style that are both comfortable and stylish.

Outfit Ideas for Your Casual Weekend Style

Outfit #1 Casual Weekend Style

If you live on yoga pants on the weekends, in addition to these yoga pants alternatives, you can look for styles that can be worn actively but don't look like you just left the gym, like these culottes from Athleta. To give the outfit a chicer touch without being too dressy, in lieu of a basic t-shirt, I used this cotton short sleeved sweater from Vince Camuto. I finished the look with a super comfortable, yet stylish, pair of sandals from Birkenstock, that have a small wedge, a convenient crossbody bag in orange from Kate Spade, colorful bangles from LOFT and gold hammered hoop earrings from Banana Republic.

Summer dresses can be the easiest way to create a chic casual weekend style because they are easy to wear and look polished at the same time. Plus, they are cool and breezy for super hot days. They an also be dressed up and dressed down depending on what your plans are. For example, this pink dress from The Gap can look super casual using a pair of sandals, like the pair in the first look, or slightly elevated with a pair of flats, like this printed pair from J. Crew. To keep it casual, I simply finished the outfit with a pair of soft blue stud earrings and a carry-all tote that can be convenient for errands or carrying the things you need for your day out.

A pair of easy casual pants can be a real lifesaver for casual weekend style if you find the right pair. I have a client who was on the search for a pair that weren't too dressy, that she could wear to the playground with her daughter and weren't tight or restrictive. Once the weather goes above 80 degrees she cringes at the idea of wearing denim, even shorts. As luck would have it, I found these super casual, really inexpensive pair of cropped pants in multiple colors. She plans on wearing them with tanks and t-shirts, a pendant and fun sandals.

I created a similar look above using these weekend pants from J. Crew. Instead of a basic tee or tank, I used this t-shirt with lace sleeves from LOFT, a pair of gold flat sandals from Miz Mooz, tassel pendant from Ann Taylor and suede bag from Banana republic. With just these small touches, the outfit is super casual but looks polished.

You don't have to slum on the weekends if you are looking to keep it casual, unless you want to, of course. It takes just a few tweaks to have a casual weekend style that is both comfortable and stylish.
