Burbank Chorale to perform holiday concert featuring Britten’s Ceremony of CarolsThe Burbank Chorale presents a spirited program of holiday music featuring ‘A Ceremony of Carols’ by Benjamin Britten and works by Morten Lauridsen, Ariel Ramirez, and other favorites. Special guests include Colburn Children’s Choir, Colburn Young Men’s Chorus, and the Burbank Chorale Orchestra.

The holiday concert takes place 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Burbank First United Methodist Church, 700 N. Glenoaks Blvd. in Burbank.

Founded in 1920, the Burbank Chorale is the longest continuously performing arts organization in the San Fernando Valley and one of the oldest musical groups in the state of California. Throughout its distinguished history, the Burbank Chorale has won numerous awards and has performed at historic events, including Olympic Chorus during the 1932 Olympic games held in Los Angeles and the World’s Fair expositions in San Diego in 1935 and in San Francisco in 1939. In May 2010, members of the Burbank Chorale participated in the Memorial Day concert at Carnegie Hall under the baton of John Rutter.
