I am on a weight loss journey. So I watch what I eat and keep counting calories. Eating chapati for most of the meal time makes me bored. I love upma's. Horse gram upma is my favorite. If your planning to eat healthy to shed some pounds I would suggest you Diet Recipes. Following this does make a change. I have lost 3 kg in 1.5 months and so far so good.Ingredients:Broken Wheat -  200 gOil- 1 tbspOnion- 1Garlic- 3 podsMustard- 1 tspGreen Chilly- 3Carrot - 1 cup (finely chopped)Beans- 1 cup (finely chopped)Salt- as per tasteWater- 8 cupsMethod:
Broken Wheat Khichdi | Godhumai Rava UpmaFinely chop onions and garlic.Slice green chillies and chop vegetables.Heat oil in a kadai.Fry green chilly and garlic and add mustard.Cook till the onion becomes well caramelised.Broken Wheat Khichdi | Godhumai Rava UpmaAdd chopped carrot, beans and fry for 2 minutes.Add 8 cups water and salt. Check salt and adjust now.Let water begin to boil vigorously.Keep the laddle ready, add broken wheat and keep stirring.Do this for 6 minutes for the broken wheat to get cooked completely.Broken Wheat Khichdi | Godhumai Rava UpmaKeep stirring till all water is absorbed.Add 2 tbsp ghee and mix well.Put off the flame and transfer to serving plate.Enjoy with horsegram chutney.Broken Wheat Khichdi | Godhumai Rava Upma
