Bring It on 2012!

By Fashionlushxx @fashionlushxx
In my last post I discussed the trends I am okay to leave behind in 2011, so it only makes sense  that I inform all of you what trends I think we should bring with us (or introduce ourselves to) in  2012! Some of the looks shown below are things we saw in the past year that should stay, and  some are things I think should make a come back
bring it on 2012!
bring it on 2012!
1. Hi-Lo skirts: Towards the end of the year we started to see much more of this "hi-lo" silhouette in a variety of different garments. Personally, I feel that for tops and sweaters it is a bit too much, yet for dresses & skirts- I am all in. I think this trend will carry on to 2012, for a while atleast. I know I haven't had enough fun with my hi-lo skirts and dresses just yet. bring it on 2012!2. The "Blogger" bun: I recently saw that this high bun was donned as the blogger bun, which seems entirely fitting. I personally practice the "sock bun" method to achieve my perfect high bun, and I can't seem to get enough of it. I think this polished up-do is a great way to add special flair to any look, and a trend that will make it through 2012.  bring it on 2012! 3. Fun brooches: Something we haven't seen in a while is brooches, and I would love for people to incorporate more of these fun baubles into their future fashion agenda! Whether thrown on the collar of a shirt, or onto your favorite slouchy purse- funky brooches are something I will now have my eye out for (and you should too). bring it on 2012!4. The wedge-heel: I think (and hope) that a lot of the shoe silhouettes from 2012 will be carried with us in the new year. I really don't want to think of a day where skinny heels & pointy toes will come back into style. Yet for those of you who are over the chunky heel as well as the wedge heel, you may become fond of their offspring- the wedge heel combinationbring it on 2012!5. Minor midriff: My personal favorite upcoming trend, the 1" midriff. As mentioned in my last post, crop tops are done-zo, yet you will still be able to show a little skin with this cute new look. Pair a high waisted skirt with an uber short crop top, only to show about an inch of skin. Whether the shirt is full or tight, and the top is matching or not- this will be a look I plan (and am excited) to rock. Scarlett Johansson is already ahead of the game on this one.  bring it on 2012!6. Oversized envelope clutches: We have seen a few of these this past year, but I am planning on holding onto tightly to this bag for the coming days and maybe even months. I am just hoping they get bigger, slouchier, and brighter. Remember, nothing ties a look together like a great purse.  bring it on 2012!7: Dainty jewels: Last year was definitely the year of tons of bracelets & huge rings! I can't say I still won't love having my wrists and fingers weighed down on the occasion this year, but I think simple will also make a comeback. I am personally pining for some uber skinny stacked rings and delicate bracelets. Less really can be more, for the most part.
