Who likes instant gratification? Sure it seems like a good idea at the time, but in the long run, don’t we all prefer nail-biting finishes, prolonged right down to the last strike of the final out?
If you’re a Cardinals fan you better. Not that any of us mind getting to see our Birds play more baseball, but would it have killed them to end the series on Friday, at home, like they were supposed to?
True a 4 games to 1 victory would not have been as exciting, it would not have been as close, but it would have been great for the blood-pressure of their fans.
But we digress. They may have their 4 games to 2 victory. They’ve earned it, but the possibility of a game 7 is not even being considered, mostly because it would interfere with the final Presidential Debate, and the Cardinals would win that battle.
With that, we leave you with utter faith, hope, and only slight bitterness that the series isn’t already over. Go Cards!
