The last week or two, we've been at my mum's testing out her new Braun Multiquick 9 Hand Blender provided by Bing Lee to review. I've never used or owned a hand blender before so it was great to see my mum put it to great use.
At her place we tested out the chopping, whisking, slicing, mashing and pureeing functions. What I loved about Braun's Hand Blender is how easy it was to use and clean. So easy my junior burger got the hang of it at her first attempt at chopping Chinese Radish:
Unlike the bulkier food processors, Braun's hand blender doesn't take up much space. You don't need to reserve it any kitchen bench space, just whip it out when you need it and save the fatigue of prepping everything by hand.
We chopped lemongrass...
Just make sure you hold onto the whisking jug before you turn on the w hisk, junior burger covered my mum's place in pancake mixture (oops...)!
Cut potato fries with the special French fries accessory...
Perfect size for baby cravings (aka 2 yo toddler) little hands although it doesn't look like a French fry to me. We just tossed them in olive oil, salt and rosemary before putting them into the oven.
Pureed pumpkin soup...
I loved that the hand blender was able to blend my pumpkin soup in the pot without scratching it. It was also a huge plus that I didn't have to transfer the ingredients from the pot to a blender to puree in batches.
Knead dough...
It kneaded the dough well enough but the recipe inside the manual wasn't great. If you have a thermomix, use that recipe and appliance instead as mine makes perfect dough.
What I liked about Braun's Multiquick 9 Hand Blender
- Easy to use and assemble
- Easy to clean- just rinse with water and everything slides off, handy when preparing different foods at the same time
- Compact design -fits perfectly in my mum's apartment which has very little storage
- Powerful & quiet motor- works as good as my other food processors and cuts better for smaller quantities. Love that it is quite quiet - no complaints from baby cravings who was dancing along to baby shark in the background as we were cooking.
- Safety button - this feature prevented us and junior burger from accidentally turning the hand blender on
What I didn't like about Braun's Multiquick 9 Hand Blender
- Some of the plastic attachments are quite flimsy
- Recipes inside the manual aren't the best but they give you a good idea of what you can do
- It can not replace a food processor if you have a family to feed
Would we recommend Braun Multiquick 9 Hand Blender?
