Brace Yourselves… a Transition is Coming

Posted on the 06 June 2014 by Krickeyb

So as you all know (or will soon know), I have started a new workout routine and diet. I hate to be repetitive and drive people crazy with posts documenting my experiences daily. I decided that I enjoy fitness and makeup a lot, so I wanted to branch off to another blog. Don’t worry Faithful Elephant lovers! The Faithful Elephant is still my number one priority. However, I wanted to add some posts to a new blog for those who only want to follow me for fitness and beauty.

It is still a work in progress, so give me some time, please. The Faithful Elephant will continue SOTW, Recipe Monday, Finish This, and other random posts that I feel will interest my followers. The fitness and makeup portion will soon be debuted on my other blog: Lift then Lipstick. The reason I chose that name is because I typically follow a lift in the morning, then apply makeup for the day, type of routine. My day consists of lifting, showering, then applying makeup. If I choose not to go all out for makeup, I ALWAYS wear lipstick. It can make any unfinished face look finished (in my opinion). So, over the weekend when my blogs for work are lighter, I will be focusing on my blog!

Please feel free to begin following the new fitness/makeup blog. Please remember that I have not designed the page or posted anything on it yet. If you follow The Faithful Elephant on Facebook, I will post Lift then Lipstick blogs on that page as well. Eventually, when LTL gets huge (I sure hope it does), I will make a separate page for that. Thank you for all your support and I hope you find this convenient. A quick recap for today’s workout cannot be skipped, though.

Day 5:
This was not a great day for me. Diet wise, I was under my daily calorie goal which is fine. I had eggs for breakfast (like always), elevation burger wrapped in lettuce for lunch, a banana for a snack, and grilled salmon salad for dinner. My day went downhill at around 7 p.m. when I arrived at the gym. I typically avoid deadlifting because of an old volleyball injury that never fails to cause problems in my life. However, I was feeling good and confident so I decided to deadlift with light weights. My form was a bit off at first, but by the 3rd set, I got back into the swing of things. After deadlifts, I moved on to pull-ups. I stretched my arms and started the exercise. As I pulled myself up for the first rep, I felt my shoulder/bicep pull so hard I thought it could have torn. Thankfully, I do not think that is the case or else I wouldn’t be writing this blog. I think it is a strain that will affect my workouts for the next few days. Tomorrow is leg day so I shouldn’t strain it again until Sunday. Injuries, both large and small, can completely ruin your vibe while at the gym. Remember to keep your head up and do alternative exercises so the workout isn’t a complete loss. After I pulled the muscle, I knew I needed to rest it. Instead of continuing back day, I ran on the treadmill for a few minutes and finished with ab workouts. It was a bummer, but I still burned the necessary calories for the day. I am hoping tomorrow is a better day.
