Borosil has been part of my life,ever since I can remember. Synonymous with glass ware,it has been part of my mum's oven centric kitchen,long before baking became fashionable.
I'm a second generation fauji. The services are in my blood and in my senses. My eyes can discern borosil glassware on anybody's dinner table. each classic dish has its own call name.
The dishes with handles are refferred to as Kaan waala bartan (the dish with ears) and the square ones are the kaanch ka cake tin ( Glass cake tin-an oxymoron,if any)...
Well, along with my clothes and linen for my new house,borosil was a part of my trousseau . And hubby dear's first gift to me upon setting up my kitchen was another carton full of borosil serve ware .
So my borosil serve ware has many meals of history seeped into them.
This hamper that came last week is only a little more special than the rest. Only because,it is a recognition of my words.
A beautiful drink to tickle your palette.

Baby and Babe is easier to figure out but...

I love the aroma of Star Anise...
I prefer to cook traditional Indian food for the main course. Familiar on everyone's palette,its always fulfilling to one's senses.
I wanted to cook Kashmiri Wazwaan for this blog post,but the weather and the schedule at school was killing, so Punjabi it is!
A simple meal of Achaari Chana and Aaloo Matar and Butter Chicken and Dalchini Pulao with Sprouts and Lachcha Pyaaz and Raita for company.
These lidded casseroles are delicate and show off the contents beautifully.
From flame to table is a great concept only if you are your own dishwasher. I prefer to set my yogurt and serve salads in them.
Oops ,I forgot the home grown Stuffed Bhindi.
This dish of Aloo Matar I have been making since sweet child was a wee little one in my arms. Just dunk the cumin seeds, butter ,frozen peas ,cubed potatoes and spices into my borosil bowl,cover with cling film and microwave for 10 minutes.With this hamper, I made them in the covered dish...eliminating the cling film.
Perfect, this time too.
Seved in the Mixing bowl with lid...
This dish I used in two parts,the main dish and the lid both are serving dishes on my table. The bottom for the Aachari Chana nd the lid for the Stuffed Bhindi.
The sprouts are raw and topped with just a little lemon juice.
Punjab's Claim to fame-Butter Chicken.And home made with all the love and butter...My butter Chicken was topped with a dab of butter but that melted as sweet child was breathing down my neck. All he wanted was Dinner!
Only the Butter Chicken and the rice,mind you, all else is wasted on him!This is my recipe of Cheaters Rice Pulao.Made with a tempering ,this basmati can beat any pulao hands down.The best part about this contest is the cache of recipes I suddenly have for blogging...So the easy way to make the best pulao -coming up!
There was no more space left for anything sweet,no space in the tummy's that is.
Food must satisfy the soul more than it does the tummy!
Just a few bites can satisfy your hunger.
And a picture can let the aromas in.
I am not a professional photographer,I have used my Sony H7 DSLR to shoot these pictures.
The sweet dessert lived to tell another tale.
This was a happy meal,happier because there were no leftovers and there was no need to make any Rotis...too warm tomove away from the comfort of the Air Conditioning.
And the best part...the results will be out soon.
So let the Manna fall...
