Tough, strong-willed Meara Quinn believes that love is for other people. She is certainly not going to fall for the gorgeous but unpredictable Connor O'Dwyer.

Along with his sister Branna and his cousin Iona, Connor shares a dark gift, passed down through generations. They use their powers for good, but they are being hunted by evil. An evil that wants to destroy them - and everyone they care for.

But love can be the strongest magic of all. In the enchanted woods of County Mayo, Meara must fight the only thing she truly fears - her own heart.

Book Review: Shadow Spell by Nora Roberts

Mists spiralled up from the water like breath as Eamon rowed the little boat. The sun shed pale, cool light as it woke from the night's rest and set morning birds to their chorus. He heard the cock crow, so arrogant and important, and the bleating of sheep as they cropped their way across the green fields.

This is my second time reading Nora Roberts. Shadow Spell is the second book in the Cousins O'Dwyer trilogy. I've also borrowed the third book, Blood Magick from the library. I've just finished book one, .

I thought Shadow Spell was great. I enjoyed it even more than Dark Witch. Like Dark Witch, the romance between Connor and Meara wasn't my favourite part but at least it didn't make me want to sick up on myself. I thought their reluctance to act of their feelings because they were trying to find a way to destroy an evil force was well written. I enjoyed all the witchy stuff especially when the cousins are able to visit Sorcha's children in their dreams. Shadow Spell is a bit darker than Dark Witch but thoroughly enjoyable. Nora Roberts knows how to tell a good tale.

I'd highly recommend Shadow Spell. I look forward to reading the conclusion to the trilogy.
