Book Review: Indiana Barns by Marsha Wiliamson Mohr

So the author of Indiana Barns has combed through her extensive twenty year photography portfolio to pull and share the best of the best: the eye-catching rustic barns in all their charm and all the seasons!

There are 137 of these gorgeous beauties featured in the book.

Hamilton County, Carroll County, Clinton County–so many familiar areas are featured in this impressive photographic extravaganza!

Indiana History

The introduction by Duncan Campbell, an Associate Professor of Architecture and Director of  the Graduate Program in Historic Preservation at Ball State University, shares the story of the Indiana barn and a bit of Indiana history, too.

According to Campbell, barns share who traveled to the settlement in an area. From common forms like English barns or Transverse Frame Barns, to the unusual round barns or other unique types, they are all represented within Indiana Barns.

Learn the styling of barns and how even the placement of the entry provides insight into the early history of the Indiana barn.
