From Bethany Chase—whom bestselling author Emily Giffin calls “a great new voice in fiction”—comes a wise and delightfully relatable novel about a woman’s journey to rebuild her life, and her heart, after a stunning betrayal.   Can you ever really know the person you love?   She never saw it coming. Without even a shiver of suspicion to warn her, art curator Caroline Hammond discovers that her husband is having an affair with a man—a revelation that forces her to question their entire history together, from their early days as high school sweethearts through their ten years as a happily married couple. In her now upside-down world, Caroline begins envisioning her life without the relationship that has defined it: the loneliness of being an “I” instead of a “we”; the rekindled yet tenuous closeness with her younger sister; and the unexpected—and potentially disastrous—attraction she can’t get off her mind. Caroline always thought she knew her own love story, but as her husband’s other secrets emerge, she must decide whether that story’s ending will mean forgiving the man she’s loved for half her life, or facing her future without him.   Compassionate and uplifting, Results May Vary is a bittersweet celebration of the heart’s ability to turn unexpected troubles into extraordinary strength.

When I read the “about this book” I was already hooked. I knew this was a book I just HAD to read for two reasons: (1) I love this author, Bethany Chase; and (2) the storyline looked very interesting! Before I get started, I’ll share with all of you Chapter 1 of this book, because I know once you read it Chapter 1, you’ll be hooked too! Click HERE for Chapter 1.

Caroline and Adam were high school sweethearts and are now married for ten years and living in Massachusetts.  Adam is a writer and Caroline works with art galleries. As the story begins, Caroline learns that Adam has cheated on her, and to make it worse in her mind, she learns that he cheated by way of a piece of art and, to top it all off he cheated with another man. Because they had been married for so long, Caroline really thought she knew Adam better than anyone else.

It’s a continuing mess of revelations for Caroline too, one after the other. Caroline is completely crushed and totally confused. She doesn’t know who she is without Adam as her other half or how to move forward. How do you trust someone when they have shattered the trust that their relationship was built on? Caroline struggles as she is still so in love with Adam.

Results May Vary is a book about love, betrayal, loss and grieving.  It is also a book about building back a relationship by using the love within it. The story here gives readers evidence of the importance of having the support of our close loved ones during times of emotional struggle while showing us the transition from grief to hope.

Bethany Chase is an amazing author who certainly found her calling! Every book I read is better than the last! I give this book 5 stars and I’m sure when you read it, you’ll do the same!

Before I close out of the book review, I wanted to share a little about Bethany Chase with you.  She was asked to provide us with her writing process since readers are very curious about this.  Here’s what Bethany said:

Bethany Chase Writing Process:  True story: I find it easier to write on the subway—which I often do to milk some productivity out of my long commute—than at home. Partly it’s the pressure to see how much I can get done (500 words is a really great subway day!), but more likely, it’s my inability to download cat videos.

8384288 A native of Virginia’s Blue Ridge mountains, Bethany Chase headed to Williams College for an English degree and somehow came out the other side an interior designer. The craftsmanship and creativity that surround her in the design world are a continual inspiration for her novels, which include USA Today Bestseller The One That Got Away and the forthcoming Results May Vary (August 2016). She lives with her lovely husband and occasionally psychotic cat in Brooklyn, three flights up.
