Bitter? Angry About Having to Search for a Job? It’s Likely Showing up in Your Job Search

By Michelle Merritt @michellemerritt

Choose to reframe this as an opportunity instead of something that happened to you. Being hurt, angry, lonely, tired is completely understandable but if that's where your focus is-your network and future employers will not want to be a part of it.

Keep your mental health in check. Get help if you need it.

Take ownership of your accomplishments and speak about them with confidence, not arrogance. Ask yourself:

What have I achieved?
How have I made an impact?
When have I been a leader?
How have I made a difference?

Get comfortable sharing accomplishments and the data/facts to support them. If it feels uncomfortable, embrace it until you're comfortable and it comes naturally to you.
