Birding Lake Havasu City–Bill Williams River NWR

Ah, the Bill Will. The Bill Williams River NWR (Bill Will) is located twenty miles south of Lake Havasu City, AZ and is one of the birdiest spots in the area. The Bill Will consists of a beautiful delta, cattail marsh, riparian area, and open desert. Good birds can be seen year round at the Bill Will. Since the beginning of March, I have observed 103 species in the Bill Will including Surf and White-winged Scoter, Barrow’s Goldeneye, Pacific Loon, Red-throated Loon, Neotropic Cormorant, Black Rail, Elf Owl, Gilded Flicker, and Nutting’s Flycatcher.
