My big plans for this weekend include the following:
Reading, crocheting, laundry, a walk by the river with the dogs…all very low-key with an exception to one thing.
This is the weekend that Mr. Baker-man will be busy with family business. Sounds so formal. To some degree – it is. This is what it has become unfortunately. In all honesty, we are ready for this phase to be over so that we can resume some kind of normalcy. I wish things could be different.
Usually, we look forward to weekends. This one, not so much and…understandably so. Dealing with personality conflicts within family is not something one looks forward to…ever! It is what it is. We will make the best of it we can and handle it with as much grace as one do under the circumstances.
There will be a sigh of relief come Wednesday. To say that my husband and I both will look forward to when a certain family member goes back to their home next week would be an understatement. I don’t like to wish the days away but Come On Wednesday! The fact that we may never have to see them again would be fine by us. I have NEVER in my life met such a caustic and acidic person. Some have come close but this one…this one takes the cake. There are very few people I would not let into my home and this person is one of them. The bigger relief will come when my mother-in-law’s estate will be closed in a few months and the imposed contact will cease.
Enough on that.
And…we are moving forward.
