We did get a bit of time to ourselves on the eve of the race where we went to this great restaurant/bar called Claytons.
The man was enjoying a cheeky glass of red before the big day. We had a platter to start with lots of goodies to nibble, then I had a chicken salad with sunblush tomatoes and he had a burger with chips (a little indulgence before the race). My chicken salad was tasty but I felt it was overkill on the oil... it went everywhere, bit of a shame because everthing else was great. The place itself was easy going but at the same time quite classy, the perfect balance for our evening... not to mention reasonable in price.
I always like to dress up when we stay away from home and head out. I went for this dress from Warehouse, it's delicate chiffon and feels feminine, comfortable and flawless on.

It is so good sometimes just to put a pretty frock on and go out. I teamed this beautiful dress with nude heels and deep purple bag... not over the top but just enough for a little drink and a bite to eat.
