Here are the two things to look out for when buying rattan furniture:
- Aluminium frame - this is easy to notice as it will feel lightweight. The reason you want aluminium is because it doesn't rust, meaning it can survive being left in the snow and rain outdoors.
- UV stabilized wicker - the UV stabilization treatment prevents the sun from damaging the strands of plastic, so it will not rot or fade when left outside.
Don't choose cheap rattan! The cheaper options will usually have a steel frame that can rust, or untreated rattan that will rot and fade over time.
