Aquaman is such a constantly great book month after month. Geoff took a character that was basically a joke, made the joke apart of Aquaman’s story and then turned him into a total badass. The story arcs have just continued to deliver. This past issue is no different.
Mera and Aquaman’s relationship has been my favorite part of the new 52 relaunch. In many ways this could be retitled Aquaman and Mera. She is such a star in this book as Geoff has really capitalized on her character and her arcs. I have loved the tension between their two worlds and what it really means for them to be together. They are like an under water Romeo and Juliet.
This issues ending was just totally insane. I have no idea what to think and was not expecting that at all. I love when that happens. I can’t wait to see what this all means for Arthur and Mera. If they killed her in the missing 6 months I’m quitting Aquaman.
