The Internet is a great way to gather news and information instantly. But before that what were the channels through which we could distribute and receive news? Before Gmail and other email services we relied heavily on the Postal Service. The USPS has delivered news and personal mail long before the invention of the web (and still does).
With photos from the Smithsonian archives we can relive the earlier years of USPS mail delivery and watch them advance from on-foot mail carriers, to horses, airplanes and into the automotive era.
