Bedside Beauty Bits

By Bbeautylove @bbeautylove

Oooh I love a bit of alliteration!

As I have re-decorated my bedroom recently I thought it would be fun to show you what I keep on and in my bedside table in terms of beauty bits.

As my skin is oily I don’t like to overload it with product at night, as I feel it has so much piled onto it in the day, night time is a chance for it to rest and rejuvenate. Therefore a lot of the products I keep by my bed are for my hands and lips rather than my face.

So I hope you enjoy this post and let me know what your bedside beauty bits are in the comments. I am very nosey…

Cowshed Cow Pat Moisturising Hand Cream

Yes L’Occitane is still the Daddy in terms of amazing hand creams but I really like having this by my bed to use on my hands at night. It is super creamy and sinks into the skin pretty quickly, but it still feels special, almost spa like in texture. It smells delicious with a calming scent which is perfect for winding down at bedtime. It also tones and refreshes hands as well as hydrating them and who doesn’t love a triple threat product?

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

This is a must have for me, I can’t go anywhere without it. I like to keep it by my bed so I can use it on my dry lips at night before hitting the hay. I also use it on any dry skin, over my eyebrows to nourish them and around my nose during a cold. I find this works wonders and the scent doesn’t really register with me but it is available in an unscented version.

Soap & Glory Dr. Spot Invisible Spot Fighting Gel

This is a recent purchase of mine that has replaced my beloved Nick Lowe treatment. Although this isn’t as good, it contains the classic spot stopper ingredient Salicylic Acid along with Lactic Acid to help unclog the affected area. It does help reduce spot size after a few applications and definitely calms down angry and sore blemishes that won’t seem to fade. It amazingly doesn’t leave any residue the next morning as some spot treatments can and no matter how inflamed your spot, it doesn’t sting too much and the packaging is great as per S&G.

Flexitol Cuticle & Nail Cream

This is something not everyone will need on their bedside table but I certainly do. It is a very intense (and strongly scented) cream that is so thick it is almost like a wax, that you use on your cuticles and around your nails to help soften and condition ragged edges, hang nails and split cuticles. I suffer with really dry cuticles and dry rough skin around some of my nails, but this massaged into them every night really helps sort the problem without much fuss. It takes a while to sink in and you only need a small amount per nail so it will last for ages. If you want something intense to really change the look of your nails it’s this. It also promotes nail growth too, so perfect if like me you are constantly filing and painting your nails.

Carmex Cherry Lip Balm

For some reason I keep an extra lip balm by my bed, but I really like the Carmex lip balm tubs and this Cherry one doesn’t smell too strongly which I like. It makes lips tingle and feel plumped but is also really hydrating and great on cracked lips.
