BECCA The One Perfecting Brush Review

By Sparklingker @sparklingker

Recently, I was offered the opportunity to try out the BECCA The One Perfecting Brush. This brush claims to replace the foundation brush, powder brush, contour brush, bronzer brush, stipple brush, blush brush, fan brush, concealer brush, sponge and kabuki. This brush is any lazy girls dream.  I was a bit skeptical at the start, how can one brush replace 10 other brushes? Unbelievable! Well after trialing it for a few weeks.. I can now tell you it can replace most of the basic brushes I use!

What BECCA says:

From start to finish, primer to powder, The One Perfecting Brush can be used with liquids, crèmes, powders and anything in between. Non-porous, high-quality goat hair allows product to sit on top of bristles rather than absorbing, ensuring a seamless application with no wasted product.

The bristles are non-porus and made from goat hair. The width of the brush handle is about the same size as my palm at 3.5 inches. The design of the brush makes holding and using it quite easy. Although the brush is quite large, it is very light. It lets you evenly cover small or larger surface areas. My first time using the brush, I experienced some shedding even though I did cleanse it with my Daiso cleanser. The shedding reduced after my third use. Although BECCA says that the brush is non-porus, I found that the brush uses a little bit more liquid foundation than I would with my normal real technique buffing blush but it’s no biggie for me. It does work wonders with powder foundation.

Brush with foundation only – Usually after I use liquid or creme products, I would give a quick swipe against tissue or paper towel between uses.

Here’s a video that shows you how to use the brush:

What I love most about this brush:

  • Applies foundation & other creme products quite easily
  • Does an amazing job at contouring
  • Awesome if you’re travelling
  • Bristles are made with very good quality goat hair
  • Cleaning is so easy

Using this brush, I have been able to apply my primer, foundation, little contouring, highlight, blush and powder without getting all the colours mixed up so I’m pretty happy with this new tool of mine.

I can’t tell you for certain if it replaces stipple brush, fan brush, sponge and kabuki because I don’t use those tools myself so it’s hard to tell. I didn’t use The One Perfecting Brush to apply concealer as I love applying it with my fingers.

I would have really loved to show you the look I created with this brush. But ever since I came back from my holidays, my skin has been really dry and it looks really gross in photos that are close up. Let me just finish this blog post by saying this brush does do it all. It’s easy to use and applies make up beautifully. If you are looking for a brush that does it all, consider the BECCA The One Perfecting Brush.
