If I was in India, I would have reached out for either a floor grazing salwar kameez or a sari with a sensuous blouse and some eye-candy Indian jewelry to go with the aforementioned, if I were to go to a wedding. But here, the sartorial soirée would be a whole different picture. I would opt for a maxi skirt, that kind of echoes the lehnga ( Indian maxi skirt ), a sensuous one shoulder blouse and my old-trustworthy diamond accessories.
It is not that I can't wear Indian to a wedding, but sometimes the dress code calls for you to dress in a particular fashion. So if there was an indoor wedding, or a summer outdoor wedding, where there was no sand and dirt, I would totally wear this look. But if it was a black-tie wedding or a beach-themed wedding, my outfit would have been different. Not to worry.....you have my back on this one too.
