Bavarian Bier Cafe (parramatta)

By Takeeatfoodblog
Picture The Christmas season is a time to eat and be merry, and this holiday season my family and I definitely ate a lot and were definitely very merry! On Boxing Day we decided to try out the Bavarian Bier Cafe in Parramatta, which was recommended by my mum's friend. All they told us what there is a lot.. A LOT of meat! We ended up ordering the 'Munich Brewers Platter' for two people, even though there was four of us this platter for two was more than what we intended to eat. The Germans definitely know how to feast!
Bavarian Bier Cafe is located inside a fully restored church, so there is a rustic and historical feel to the restaurant. A majority of the churches  designs was left like the stained glass windows. The ambiance is definitely something that made the dining experience so enjoyable.

MUNICH BREWERS PLATTER | For Two Or More | Crispy Pork Belly, Pork Terrine, Roasted Pork Knuckle, Haus-Made Sausages, Schnitzel, Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage Creamy Mash, Granny Smith Apple Compote & Löwenbräu Bier Jus | $36pp

Haus-Made Sausages
There was two types of sausages on the platter and it was a good starter to the meal. The sausages taste best when eaten with the mash potatoes and gravy. There are a generous amount of sausages that each of us got at least 2 to 3 pieces each.

Crispy Pork Belly & Pork Terrine
If you know me well or have been reading my other posts you will know that I love pork belly, especially with the crackling! I was definitely looking forward to eat this the most and it did not disappoint! The pork was tender and juicy and melted instantly in your mouth. The crackling was a little bit chewy but still had a nice crunch to it.

Schnitzel
The schnitzel was definitely one of the best meat on the plate. I heard that the schnitzel dish is a must order so next time I'll definitely order that! The schnitzel had a thin crispy bread coating that gave the chicken a crunchy outer-coat.

Roasted Pork Knuckle
The pork knuckle was the most unique meat on the dish and I was very curious as how it would taste. It was very, very salty and over- cooked, which was quite disappointing. We struggled to eat the pork knuckle because it was so large and quite dry, making it hard to swallow/ eat.

Sticky date & walnut pudding | w/ Butterscotch Sauce | $9.50
Even though we were extremely full, I still had room to eat some dessert :P We ended up ordering the sticky date and walnut pudding with butterscotch sauce. The sticky date pudding was warm and fresh out of the oven, it was extremely soft and was complimented by the butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream very well.

Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier Hell | Mango- flavoured
I'm not a fan of beer but we recommended to try one of the beers since it would go well with the meat we were eating. This beer had mango flavouring so there was a fruity and tangy taste to it which made it very pleasant to drink.
Picture Picture Picture Overall, the dining experience at Bavarian Bier Cafe was extremely enjoyable and I enjoyed every second there! I know for sure I'll be back! The service was exceptionally good and we were taken care of very well but a lovely waitress who was always there to answer our questions and make our dining experience as pleasant as possible. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and I can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for all of us :)
Happy eating x
